What happens if the system goes down or there's data loss? The time to get back up and going matters—not only for you and your staff but for your patients.
Is the dental EHR system instinctive and easy to use? Will you have to spend a lot of time learning how to use it? How about training for your staff? You'll want something that's easy, instinctive, and makes getting staff onboard simple. In the same vein, you'll need to see what kind of support is available for you and your staff. From FAQ to instruction videos to phone support, be sure the support is robust and available for any of your questions or issues.
Take a look at the features and functions of the EHR system. Does the system make sense to how your office works? How about the charting and notes? Will the software help the flow of your appointments? The point of the software is to make your job easier, you don't want to spend
Do you have a current EHR system in place? Are you starting from scratch? Either way, you need to find out from your vendor how they will help set up your system. What will be your responsibility, what will you need to supply? How long will it take? Additionally, how often does maintenance happen? What can you expect as far as updates and downtime? Ask all these questions before you invest so that you have all the information.
